Technologies

SLR-EV
SLR-EV is SLR with a dual symmetric pivot brake caliper. The short-arm brake design employs two bearings and a roller to realize greater efficiency in the pivot area and deliver superior modulation and power for braking. Together with the BC-9000 brake cable, the latest calipers deliver 36% more braking power than SHIMANO’s previous brake model. And we offer 2 axle symmetric brake caliper and fork mount and chain stay mount type (BR-R9100/6810/5810).

Reach Adjust
The brake lever is equipped with a reach-to-adjust mechanism. The distance from the handlebar grip to the lever can be adjusted to suit any hand size, type of riding, and individual rider preferences.

Dual Control Lever
DCL stands for DUAL CONTROL LEVER. It has brake and shifting functions in the system and enables easy operation. Ergonomic innovation is probably more critical to the higher standard performance than the added gearing. The shift internals borrows the robustness from our MTB technology and is so smooth and effortless that one-finger shifts front and rear are possible. Indeed, shifting is the ultimate act of SHIMANO's TOTAL INTEGRATION and simply has to be experienced to be understood.

The DURA-ACE/ULTEGRA/105 Dual Control Lever has an optimized structure with features that include the lighter-weight pivot section on the near side of the shifting unit and the integral shifting cable for lighter steering. Its many component parts are made so compact and precise to achieve unprecedented high-speed performance.

OT-SP41
With OT-SP41 the entire length of the outer casing is pre-lubricated with special silicone grease for quick and precise shifting performance. OT-SP41 maximally reduces the inner cable friction to provide a quick response to operations and easy/effortless shifting. Moreover, power loss due to delay in shifting and fatigue by shifting especially when you ride on the terrain with many ups and downs as well as a long-distance is also reduced. 8 color options are also available for the outer casing to meet many requests.

Polymer Coated Cable
The secret is a polymer coating that when viewed under a microscope looks like a series of tubes wrapped around the cable. This means less surface area rubbing the internal housing liner and it holds grease longer. The main benefits are significantly less shifting effort and the feeling of a quicker shift action also improved braking power with remarkably less brake lever effort.
