The Shimano WH-RS171-CL 700C wheelset has a wider rim than its predecessor WH-RS170 but is a few grams lighter. The inner dimension is now 19 mm, making the wheels suitable for off-road use. Of course, the proven Shimano quality technologies have been retained.

The tool-less type thru-axle skewer system optimizes rigidity and weight balance and enables easy operation with a reliable internal cam mechanism. High rigidity is secured while keeping the optimum weight balance. The E-Thru axle hub system minimizes suspension distortion while maintaining lightweight for high-speed riding around sharp corners.
