The fastest and lightest. Made for pure speed
Ultra Light Speed inner tubes are made for pure speed. Designed to offer the lowest rolling resistance possible, Ultra Light Speed is the fastest and lightest tube ever developed by Vittoria.
They are 70% lighter and 14% faster than standard butyl tubes. They are made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), which offers lower rolling resistance and is lightweight compared to standard butyl inner tubes.
By using Ultra Light Speed tubes in both tires, you can save up to 160 g. That’s why Ultra Light Speed is the perfect choice for road cyclists that want the highest speed without giving up the practicality and ease of use of a tube tire set-up. Given their lightness, they require extra care during the mounting process.
The plastic material they are made of is subject to heat shock. In fact, they are compatible with disc brake wheels only, as the heat generated by brake pads at the rim level can deteriorate the inner tubes. The Ultra Light Speed tubes feature a red, Vittoria-branded, extensible valve with a removable core.
The packaging also contains a repair patch and a cleaning cloth. Made in Germany, the TPU material of Ultra Light Speed tubes is 100% recyclable – the valve must be cut off from the tube before disposal.
Performance from the future
When we started the development of the Ultra Light Speed inner tubes, we had one objective in mind. We wanted to create the better-performing tubes ever in terms of lightness and rolling resistance. Good puncture resistance, performance and sustainability would have been the pillars of our inner tube of the future. After more than one year of research on materials and production processes, we have reached our objectives. Ultra Light Speed is the product that sets new benchmarks in the market.
Material and innovative product processes
Vittoria’s Ultra Light Speed inner tubes are made with thermoplastic polyurethane. Besides being completely recyclable, this material offers excellent technical characteristics; it is steady from -47°C up to +100°C. It can be consistently extruded in very thin thicknesses. It has a good elasticity and it is completely airtight, which allows keeping constant air pressure inside for a long time. It is resistant to punctures and in case of a puncture, the flow of air is slower compared to butyl and latex, which translates to increased safety.
In order to reach the incredible 30g lightness and a higher puncture resistance than butyl tubes, Ultra Light Speed is made with multi-layer co-extrusion technology and is 0,35mm thick. They are extremely thin if compared to butyl inner tubes, which usually are 1mm thick. The welding is performed with high-frequency technology.
Reduced thickness and easy to carry along
When compared to standard butyl tubes, the compact dimensions make Ultra Light Speed easy to carry along. It fits perfectly in your pocket or in your saddle bag.
For disk brakes only
Despite the incredible technical characteristics of the material and the production technologies used, high temperature is the sworn enemy of thermoplastic polyurethane. In very rare circumstances, rim brakes can overheat the rim to extremely high temperatures. For this reason, to guarantee total safety for the rider, we recommend using these inner tubes exclusively with bicycles equipped with disc brakes.
One length but with an extensible valve
Ultra Light Speed inner tube is available in 700x25/30c with a 60mm valve and removable Presta core. Thanks to this valve, full compatibility with any rim up to 50mm is guaranteed. By removing the Presta core and using valve extensions, the inner tubes can be used with even higher rim profiles.
Note: Repair kit included
We have created a very resistant product, but punctures are part of the game. Thermoplastic polyurethane inner tubes require a specific repair kit which is not easy to find in shops. For this reason, a repair kit is provided inside the packaging, which includes a self-adhesive patch and a napkin. It is easy to use and allows fast and durable repair.
IMPORTANT: Only to be used for Disc-Brake Rims (Not for rim brakes).
